Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinyshock!

I have shinies! I have shiny new internet toys too! I got THREE awesome pietersite spheres in the mail today, so I am indeed selling the least nice of the ones I already had, which is pretty enough in a way, but not in the way I wanted, so goodbye to it, and hello to its three spiffy replacements! Along with those came a HUGE bag of polished pietersite pieces. (How's that for alliteration?) I sorted them by size/weight, and have listed them for sale.

I have, in fact, listed them for sale in my shiny, shiny, shiny new gallery! Still sort of rough around the edges, and I haven't gotten any of those spiffy themes for it, it's still set to the default, but hey, photos! With thumbnails! That I don't have to make by hand! And descriptions! And comment features and stuff! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm still feeling my way around using this thing, but it's fairly intuitive, and seems to have plenty of support should I get lost.

So, photos, and pricing, and all that jazz to be found here: http://sparkcostumes.com/gallery/index.php?cat=4

<3<3<3<3 This is SO much easier than what I was doing before, let me tell you! And I can potentially hook a shopping cart up to this, and do direct paypal sales this way, once I find time to fiddle about with the shopping cart features. Yay!

Anyhow... comment here if you want anything. And I've tallied up orders, so anybody who's claimed stuff already but hasn't paid, clicky there and have a look. Though if you mentioned something you wanted to me by IM or on IRC, I might not have it listed, as the list of all that stuff is still stuck on my computer, and inaccessable to me. So drop me a comment to remind me if your tally is missing anything, or if you're not listed at all and you'd claimed stuff.

Anybody who just wants to keep their tab running can, no problem! If you'd like to pay it off and get a shipment sent out first thing next week, just paypal me your total.

Preemptive strike!

If you see somebody posting about this article and starting into the paranoid, tinfoil hat routine about how the government is going to legalize art theft, THIS IS NOT TRUE.

There was an Orphan Works bill.

Said Orphan Works bill did NOT legalize art theft.

Said Orphan Works bill was NOT pushed by freaking Bill Gates (good grief!)

Said Orphan Works bill DIED and was not passed.

It's over.

It's done.

We don't need to bother our congressman, or sign a petition, or whatever other action the people running around like Chicken Little and screaming about the sky falling on artists everywhere are advocating.

THERE IS NO ORPHAN WORKS BILL RIGHT NOW. There was, it's dead, and can we PLEASE SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY?

This frothing paranoia is infesting every community I'm on, and I want it to GO AWAY NOW.

Edit - Now with improved actual facts!

The text of the bill itself:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/t2GPO/http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_bills&docid=f:h5439ih.txt.pdf
(You'll need to click the "continue to GPO site" link to get it.)

A report about the situation that inspired the bill from the US Copyright office:
http://www.copyright.gov/orphan/orphan-report.pdf

I have seen one article mentioning the return of this bill, here:
http://oncopyright.copyright.com/2008/03/17/orphan-works-are-back-on-congress%E2%80%99s-radar-screen/

However, the bill is NOT listed for the current session of congress.

http://thomas.loc.gov/ is where you can look up current legislation.

Okay. How the flip do you block somebody from commenting on your stuff on furaffinity? I know it's possible, I've seen it done. But the site is full of fail and I can't find where you do it. Somebody point me at it?

Nevermind, found it. Why the flip they put it THERE I'll never know.

And can I say how much stupid is out today? Soooooooooooooooooooo much stupid. ARgh.
